Edmond Chiropractor: Helping You Keep Your Spine Happy
Do you ever feel like things are going so well that you don’t need to visit our Edmond chiropractor or your local chiropractic office? It can be easy to feel as though you have everything under control.
Of course, habitual routines are what keep you healthiest. You don’t stop visiting the dentist for routine checkups just because you brush your teeth every day, right? With that being said, our Edmond chiropractor cares about the overall well-being of every patient. Even if you do come in for regular adjustments to your spine, keeping your spine happy can often require a bit of upkeep outside of the office, as well.
Today, our Edmond chiropractor is sharing 4 simple tips to help you keep your spine healthy, even in between visits.
1.) Get Enough Proper Rest: Improper sleep patterns and positions are often bigger problems than many adults realize. Think about the fact that your spine keeps you in a balanced, upright position all day long. Just like the rest of your body, it needs to be properly supported when you’re sleeping and it needs to rest for adequate amount of time!
2.) Eat A Healthy Diet: When you make choices that are healthiest for your body you’ll feel better overall. A healthy diet with plenty of green vegetables (kale, chard, collard greens, etc.) can help the body get enough proper nutrients to function at its very best, including the nervous system!
3.) Find Time For Exercise: Even if all you do every single day is jump on a mini-trampoline (Rebounder) for 15 minutes a day, it would be good enough to get your muscles, lymph nodes, and organs moving. Keeping the rest of your body active is actually very important to spinal health as the strengthened muscles help keep those body parts in their proper place.
4.) Maintain Decent Posture: Slouching is the quickest path to an unhealthy spine and you’ll have more pain to deal with in the long run. You can become aware of your posture by how you sit, stand, and stretch out before sleep. During the day try to make an effort to sit up straight. When you’re walking make sure your shoulders are down, neck is long, and back is straight. Before bed, try to stretch out as long as you can before relaxing.
Our Edmond chiropractor hopes that these simple tips help you maintain a healthy and happy spine. Should you need to come in for an adjustment, you may make an appointment by calling us at 405-285-7325 or by clicking here.
